“Where no plan is laid, where the disposal of time is surrendered merely to the chances of incident, chaos will soon reign.” – Victor Hugo

Food For Thought

  • I don’t have the time to plan.
  • I am too busy.
  • I like to do things spontaneously.
  • I don’t have the discipline.
  • I may die tomorrow, so why bother planning?
  • Things never go according to plan.

Sound familiar?

These statements are often the consequence of not having a plan. If you have a plan, somehow, you have more time. Other people can no longer dispose of your time at will. You are in charge when you have a plan. When you have a plan and circumstances dictate that you can’t carry out your plan exactly the way you intended; you have the opportunity to change your plan. The person with no plan doesn’t even know when he or she is being taken off track.

Life without a plan is like going shopping without a shopping list. It will cost you two of the most valuable commodities: time and money.

How much unplanned time (life) do you have lying around?
